079. Diagnosis

An over exposure to steam, like say a sauna or for most recent event relevance a steam engine, will reduce sperm count for one to five weeks. Contribute that to the no-brainer lung deficiencies. The more you know.

I'm curious to know what an ipod looked like with that technological slant. A gramophone the size of a brick?

You can borrow this. Don't get too attached. It's festive and might save you explaining time. Unless you want a crutchpurse.

Fine. If you come to work and they match you're the one who will have to change it. I'm not.

Charles did a lot for the reproductive community. He should have gotten a medal.

Or the chair.

I've seen enough adaptations of his work. It's all overrated.

[identity profile] spiritofsorrow.livejournal.com 2009-08-26 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
An ipod? I don't know what that is, but my radio certainly turned into something archaic-looking.

[identity profile] vicodincrutch.livejournal.com 2009-08-27 05:17 am (UTC)(link)
More archaic than a radio?

[identity profile] spiritofsorrow.livejournal.com 2009-08-27 04:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, it was a radio, but it was definitely too large for me to carry sensibly, with all kinds of tubes and gears and parts sprawling out like an inventor's first prototype. I still don't understand the concept of a steam-powered screen.

Eye. Pod.

dr_conscience: (Oh yeah // Part one.)

[personal profile] dr_conscience 2009-08-26 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Actually, it was considerably bigger than a brick.

Thus rendering it useless.

[identity profile] vicodincrutch.livejournal.com 2009-08-27 05:30 am (UTC)(link)
Bigger? Was it record player size? That was portable. Portable enough.
dr_conscience: (Talking // Concerned)

[personal profile] dr_conscience 2009-08-27 04:20 pm (UTC)(link)
The idea of an iPod is that you can put it in a pocket. It was significantly bigger than any pocket.

And besides the thing itself, it had some sort of extra compartment with a steam engine in it. I think there was a harness of some sort involved.

[identity profile] dr-tightass.livejournal.com 2009-08-27 01:00 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you, House, for setting off a City wide panic. As if we don't get enough hypochondriacs in the clinic.

[identity profile] holymadonna.livejournal.com 2009-08-27 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
It would have probably looked like a regular ipod with gears and Victorian design (http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_mgyYTW2w19c/R8YePOg78mI/AAAAAAAACM0/MfQJuhEAxrE/s400/Steampunk_Ipod___colour_sketch_by_VictorianSteampunk.jpg).

[identity profile] vicodincrutch.livejournal.com 2009-08-27 05:41 am (UTC)(link)
You'd think that it would.

We're going to have to keep our thing on the down low, by the way. Too many snoops in these parts. Good idea on picking out a cover.

[identity profile] holymadonna.livejournal.com 2009-08-27 07:49 pm (UTC)(link)
The machines weren't so much outdated than outrageous versions of modern devices with Victorian touches.

Would I ever tell a soul?
