073. Diagnosis

Puberty isn't meant to be a yo-yo. At all. If only there was a way to monitor the long term impact of a back and forth age reversal curses. There are more important matters to project for everyone to see.

Why don't we set some clinic ground rules in the face of so many in this cozy work space. Where we work. Other activities have happened. Don't think I don't know.

1. No sex in the examination room or the champagne room while we're at it. Any violation of this will result in an investigation. You will not like it. This will be called The Returner Clause.

2. Patient doctor confidentiality is between one patient and all doctors. We share because we care. Also because one way or another I will find out. You will not like it that way.

3. Say it if you mean it and if you're willing to face the consequences.

4. If you don't know how to make coffee, don't even bother.

Now that that is out of the way. What are we dealing with. The diagnostics are falling into a pattern.

That you've put the rules up at all, then, suggests that you believe many here not to have brains?

They lack the right usage of them, really. You can't give points for trying ALL of the time.

Life proves that much, indeed.

Would you also, as Doctor Chase does, think it too strange for me to volunteer at your clinic?

How do you feel about wearing a sandwich board with your name on it?

[identity profile] vicodincrutch.livejournal.com 2009-06-17 06:28 am (UTC)(link)
You wouldn't have to. Unless YOU want to be the one wearing the sandwich board.

He has no qualifications, what can he possibly do at the clinic except make people wonder why I'm tending reception.

[identity profile] vicodincrutch.livejournal.com 2009-06-17 06:54 am (UTC)(link)
Comic relief.

Do you really think he'll be able to do that much wearing cardboard?

[identity profile] worksmart.livejournal.com 2009-06-17 06:56 am (UTC)(link)
Do you know why he's interested?

[identity profile] vicodincrutch.livejournal.com 2009-06-17 06:59 am (UTC)(link)
Because the mirror just doesn't do it for him anymore.

[identity profile] worksmart.livejournal.com 2009-06-17 07:03 am (UTC)(link)
He's trying to find faith.

[identity profile] vicodincrutch.livejournal.com 2009-06-17 07:16 am (UTC)(link)
And who lead him to believe it'd be hanging around here?

[identity profile] vicodincrutch.livejournal.com 2009-06-17 07:39 am (UTC)(link)
I wash my hands of this. You tell him no and you tell him where he can find a clinic.

Or maybe just hold his hand and take him to church.

I would be willing to compromise with a nametag.

Are we so impossible to distinguish?

He wears more colors than I do.

[identity profile] vicodincrutch.livejournal.com 2009-06-17 06:49 am (UTC)(link)
Not impossible. But likely.

You asked Chase first? Homeboy doubts your qualifications. What are they besides recreating the Parent Trap?

I did not ask Doctor Chase; the suggestion to volunteer at a clinic was his. I have heard many good things about yours in particular. Even if at times

My qualifications as they are right now would not put me in a position for diagnostics. But I have lived for quite some time, seen a great number of things, and learn quickly for it.

If Doctor Chase is too uncomfortable, perhaps you could at least point to another competent doctor practicing in the City, if it wouldn't be too much trouble.

[identity profile] vicodincrutch.livejournal.com 2009-06-17 07:07 am (UTC)(link)
If Doctor Chase is too uncomfortable, then I think he should fix it up his own way.

There are a good number of clinics. I am pleased to hear that there is ass kissing going on around here, from who and for what I can only suspect.

Learning what quickly would be a good thing to fill in.

I don't suppose leaving the sources in the dark would leave you any more inclined to treat those on your team more nicely?

Learning most things. I'd take classes first, but I don't think the City has a medical school.

[identity profile] vicodincrutch.livejournal.com 2009-06-17 07:22 am (UTC)(link)
If I treat them nicely they think they'll get off easily. Or that they don't have to work as hard to do something right.

I doesn't have a school above college level. Around here it's the kamikazi way of learning.

I suppose that's one take on discipline.

Perhaps I'll simply peruse the library, then.
